90+ POINTS - Robert Parker -

Ripe red berries and blackberry jam, full bodied with a powerful structure.

Cantine Due Palme is a large cellar based in Cellino San Marco, Salento, deep in the heart of Apulia, the southern heel of the Italian peninsula.

Founded in 1989 from an idea of its President Angelo Maci, Cantine Due Palme has grown over the years, carefully selecting grapes from old vines situated in premium sites – and it is recognised today as one of the finest cellars operating in the region.

Wine of supposed Dalmatian origin, maybe its ephitat 'Susumaniello'  comes from 'loaded as a donkey', thanks to its peculiarity to be  particularly productive in juvenile age.

Grapes:    100% Susumaniello

Region:    Italy / Puglia / Salento IGP

Maker:      Angelo Maci

Notes:      A deep ruby red colour, with blue highlights and a bouquet of ripe red berries and blackberry jam. On the palate is full bodied with a powerful structure.

Serve:      At 16-18c with Aubergine parmigiana, savoury red meat dishes, ripe cheese and game.

ABV:        13.5%
