Augustin Tardieu bought the Combe vineyard in Vougeot, Burgundy having tended the grapevines under the instruction of the Holy Monk, Sixte, for a decade. In 1949, his son Lucien replanted the vines in accordance with the monk's tradition. Today, his wines remain an example of exceptional quality.
